Here I present a mixture of PA_Jeronimo and my work on Freddy/F_Red's Sabre.
I know Freddy was not a fan of cromhunt's textures, but I decided to use some of his, and the plane I aimed for is the Canadair Sabre MK.6 version.
Most importantly here, I used cromhunt's gauges, since they are coming with speed in knots, which is historical correct for most if not all Sabre cockpits I saw. I "calibrated" the speed gauge, by idiotically but effectively repositioning certain speed ranges to be compatible with actual real speeds in the game, so you will always have the correct speed in Knots, even more correct than with the Jet Era Sabres from my SAS buddies.
Historical correct cockpit? Not 100%, but as good as I could, be my guest to improve!
You will find two extra "-" marked files inside the folder: --Canopy-Open.tga You can delete that!
..and: -Panel.tga That is Freddy/F_Red's panel colour and texture as option. The cromhunt tex are darker, so it may not fit so well.
Another feature: I gave it red night gauges, optimally the Sabre would have had red backlights instead.
Also a front green tint already default in IES3.
The MIRROR is all PA_Jeronimo's work, I only repositioned it. It is not 100% correct and there will be a little logfile entry "bad glue"...etc. when you fly with this cockpit. To my best knowledge this will NOT harm your game.
You can delete the entire Mods folder content in case of issues or FPS probs.
Took me a while to get my edits converted from UP 2.01 to IES.
The 2nd folder are WIP project Mig-15/17 pits, NOT the final shape and more edits (cockpit reflection set) planned. Not ready!
Screens Sabre Also BTW shortened the canopy frame, that, even if you dislike it, was a lot of hier.him fumbling! Wanted it that way on purpose. Freddy's panel tex
Other now default panel:
For fun and not perfection.

Have fun, this is a fun mod and I do not expect nor recommend inclusion in IES. At this time. If any issues arise with the mod anyone here can and may pull the links. No copyright stuff included, pic used was for free.
Some known issues with the new hier.him shape, these pits are not intended to be perfect since I have no 3D modelling skills, but to visually come closer to a perfection of Freddy's great Sabres. Some issues include a Mach gauge issue (usually too fast and I am not sure if this is a bug of the gauge in 4.09m or a classfile bug in IES 3), night gauges not perfect...but a bit closer to the historical colours which where red backlight and whitish gauges..

Decided making the Sabre family FMS and pits (FMs only with assistance of course) my step back into modded IL-2 and also get back to testing elsewhere in July and so...soon "New Sabre pits in da house"...
Several modifications were made from getting back F_Red/Freddy's gauge 3D base in to combining them with cromhunt's gauge textures to resizing the mirror to a more realistic shape to resizing the entire cockpit to something more en par with real Sabres (Sry Freddy, only that I changed).
Also added new night gauges from scratch based on the new gauges so the red will fit one on one to the day gauges.
Will provide 3 sets: 2 choices for blue metal vs white metal look on the panels One version blue metal for Avon (blue=blue grey)
And 2 choices for mirror maybe as well, where choices means: Small mirror details mostly identical. Original PA_Jeronimo/Tom2(Tomas2) mirrors were too small on the vertical...I store some fotos of real 86s.²
²well, a few, best sources were reallife cockpit videos on the net TBH. Hope soon ...

PS This stuff is new, of the past 2 weeks and this is my first post on any IL-2 forum since ca. April. Look forward to finally working on Sabre Fms, something I had planned since a long time and I assume it will be very, very hard. BTW for anyone interested, I by now store a very comprehensive list with links and sources of Sabre characteristica you will not see in any sim I know of. Including an interview excerpt from a Sabre pilot, cheers to this gentleman..he is an active Il-2 online flyer.
If I fail to satisfy my own needs for perfection on this pit I will delete the last 2 posts and carry on elsewhere (Maps cough).
